Admission to the DeGroote PhD program is highly competitive. We are looking for applicants with superior credentials who demonstrate a track record of excellence. You are highly recommended to review this page carefully before submitting an application. Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission, as we have limited space each year. Our Admission Committee takes a holistic approach during the application review process and all components of the application are given a thoughtful and thorough review.
The application process is very competitive. In the past, successful applicants have exceeded these standards.
It is crucial that you check the status of your preferred field of study, prior to submitting an application as some fields may be full before the declared deadlines:
You can only apply for one field of study. You can review the research interests of faculty members who are available to supervise.
If you have made an appointment to take one of the required tests, please wait until you know the results before submitting your preliminary and/or formal application.
