Biography
Thi Thuy (Kylie) Nguyen is a PhD student at the DeGroote School of Business, McMaster University, and she is currently the Vice President of the DeGroote Doctoral Students Association. A serial enthusiast of research topics, she has consecutively fallen for entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, stigma, and dirty work before finding a way to keep them all through “entrepreneuring as emancipation”. Her research focuses on how people use entrepreneurship to challenge constraints and pursue change. Her current projects explore immigrant entrepreneurship and the commitment and mobility of custodians. When she is not researching, she can usually be found hiking, exploring the outdoors, or convincing herself that healthy hobbies count as data collection.
