Saba Khorasani

Biography

Saba joined the PhD in Finance program at the DeGroote School of Business in September 2022, where her research interests are centered around Empirical Asset Pricing.

Before pursuing her doctoral studies, Saba had the opportunity to gain extensive industry experience, where she held senior positions in Financial Analysis and Strategy, R&D, and Corporate Financial Planning. She completed her Master of Financial Engineering, and her thesis, titled “Solving Enhanced Index Tracking Portfolio Problem under Lending and Borrowing,” involved optimizing portfolio strategies through advanced mathematical techniques, which led to two publications in high-impact Iranian Finance journals. Saba also holds a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering, where she built a strong foundation in management theories and applied engineering mathematics. Throughout her academic journey, she has been fortunate to complement her studies with practical experience, implementing financial models and strategies across various projects in the Finance sector.
