Biography

Alyaa joined the Ph.D. program in Information Systems at the DeGroote School of Business. She has a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Systems Management from Egypt Japan University of Science & Technology (E-JUST), Egypt – Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan. Alyaa is an Assistant Professor at Alexandria University in Egypt with more than 15 years of teaching experience. Her past research focused on optimization techniques to solve complex nonlinear problems with several engagements in industrial projects. Her current research focuses on employing big data analytics to investigate Multimorbidity and impairment management and prediction among older adults. In addition, she is studying the problem of delayed hospital discharge of frail patients, known as the Alternate Level of Care (ALC) in Canada, using large electronic age-related healthcare data, machine learning, optimization, and systems dynamics.
