Please join me in congratulating Fariba Nosrati, Information Systems student supervised by Dr. Detlor, on her acceptance to the ICIS 2018 Doctoral Consortium to be held in Pacific Grove, CA this December. The consortium runs in conjunction with the prestigious International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) annual conference.
Back in the Spring, the IS faculty at DeGroote selected Fariba’s proposal for nomination to the consortium (each university could only nominate one student). From there, Fariba competed against candidates from around the world for one of only 40 spots available world-wide. All candidates had to submit proposals outlining and describing their dissertation research. Fariba’s research proposal, entitled “The Use of Digital Storytelling for Impression Management by City Cultural Organizations,” investigates the use of digital storytelling by city cultural organizations for the purpose of impression management. ICIS doctoral consortium reviewers (a panel of renowned IS faculty experts) stated that Fariba’s research promises to make significant theoretical and practical contributions.
Fariba’s representation of the DeGroote School of Business at this event continues our tradition of successfully sending IS doctoral students to this renowned international event.
Congratulations again to Fariba!
